EU students don't need to apply for a visa if stay up to 6 months in the UK
EU students don't need to apply for a visa to enter the United Kingdom when studying a short-term course for up to six months. According to the new immigration system that will apply from January 2021, EU citizens will be allowed to stay in the country without a visa for half a year. When arriving at the border, students must show their passport or use electronic passport gates in order to acquire entry clearance.
For courses longer than six months, students will need to apply for a short-term student visa (courses between 6 to 11 months) or a long-term student visa (courses longer than 11 months) under the new student route. In the latter case, students will need to demonstrate that they have been offered a place from a university, meet the required level of English, and have enough money to support themselves during their period of studies.
The free movement of people between the UK and EU ends on December 31st. As of this date, EU citizens will no longer have the automatic right to live, study, and work in the United Kingdom. The points-based immigration system treats EU and non-EU citizens equally, prioritizing individuals’ skills and talent over the country of origin.
