NCUK International Foundation Programme is designed to prepare international students for university study with guaranteed access to leading UK universities. If you are uncertain of your chances of receiving a conditional offer, because of your school grades or English, this is the best way to secure your place.

How does it work?

International Foundation Year

NCUK IFY gives access to 16 UK universities and guarantees entry into  3,000 courses. The program enables students to gain subject-specific knowledge and skills. All you need to do is to choose three subjects related to the degree you would like to study. In addition, you will attend special English language modules, designed to improve your academic writing and understanding. You can pick from the following subjects:

  • Mathematics for Engineering
  • Mathematics for Science
  • Further Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Business Studies
  • Economics
  • Global Studies
  • Society and Politics
  • Art and Design

What to expect?

This is available for students aged 17 or older. You will be placed in a class with a maximum of 14 students. It begins every September, lasting 3 academic terms, with an average of 21 hours of study per week.

English level: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent, with no element less than 5.0. Pearson PTE (42-49) and TOEFL iBT (46-59) also accepted.
