NINO applications via post for EU students approved for a student maintenance loan

The forms will be sent to the students via post mail once the Student Loan Company (SLC) confirms the Tuition fee and the Maintenance loan are due. The new changes would allow students to get access to their loans, which now are blocked for those who were not able to provide an Insurance Number.

EU Students, applying for a Maintenance loan will be automatically sent their NINO applications and will not need to wait for the re-opening of the Job Centers. Currently, EU citizens cannot attend a Face to Face interview in order to be given formal permission to work in the UK, as the Centers have been closed since March due to Covid-19.

The new changes would allow students to get access to their loans ASAP, which now are blocked for those who were able to provide an Insurance Number. Once they are approved by the SLC they will be sent a form with a Reference number, that certifies the applicants` student status. The post mails will be sent to the students` home addresses given to SF.
