No more Green Light for UK visitors, only vaccinated without quarantine

UK traffic light system scrapped

Red list of countries and the rest of the world to replace the Traffic System

From the 4th of October 2021, the UK Traffic Light System dividing the countries by their Green, Amber or Red COVID status will be removed and replaced by new rules. There will no longer be a list of COVID "green countries" allowing travellers to avoid quarantine when entering the UK. The government will introduce a red list of countries with the highest COVID rates and the rest of the world.

If you have been in one of these "red countries" in the last 10 days, you will not be permitted entry into the UK unless you are a British or Irish national, or have a residence status such as Indefinite Leave or Settled/Pre-Settled Status.

Before arriving, you will be expected to take pre-departure test, book quarantine hotel package with two COVID-19 tests, and complete a Passenger Locator Form.

Only fully vaccinated travellers from non-red countries will be able to avoid the quarantine!

If you have been fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine (AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Janssen), you will need to book only a Day 2 COVID-19 Test and complete a Passenger Locator Form. You will need to do a pre-arrival PCR or Rapid lateral flow test to demonstrate that you don't have COVID when crossing the border! You must be able to provide a special certificate or passport to prove your vaccination status.

How will non-vaccinated enter the UK?

If you are not fully vaccinated, all rules from the old "amber" list will apply. You will need to quarantine for 10 days. Before travelling to the UK you have to take a PCR or Rapid lateral flow test to prove you are negative, and book Day 2 and Day 8 Tests for the period of your self-isolation. You will also need to complete a Passenger Locator Form.
