Food is a central part of all human cultures and if you are a foodie person, London is the right place to live in. Being one of the most multicultural cities in the world, London offers a diversity of meals beyond your imagination.

Endless-Chinese-Buffet

There are so many options to choose from, but when it comes to students we understand that the most important factor for their choice is the budget. This is why we selected some venues that you might like. 🙂

Restaurants

Before we get carried away, let's talk about the places which put food first and foremost.

PIZZA UNION | KING’S CROSS AND SPITALFIELDS

This isn't simply a pizza place, it's the pizza place. Not only can you choose from several toppings and sides, but each piece comes out at 12″ as standard, so you are guaranteed a filling lunch. The most expensive pizzas on the list are £6.50 and the cheapest is only £2.95.  After lectures or on weekends, you can pair it with wine that comes to just £12.50 a bottle. Bargain!

PRETO Brazilian Steakhouse | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Meat lovers, rejoice! The steakhouse offers an unlimited lunch deal for just £14.95 per person. You can enjoy Brazilian specialties, gourmet fresh salads, and home-style dishes, as long as you can keep going. All you have to do is to keep a card on your table flipped up to its green side and the waiters will keep coming around. Perfect for a lively gathering.

ALL YOU CAN EAT Chinese Buffet | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

If you’re on a tight schedule, but still want to eat well, you can have a hearty lunch in London that will last you for two days without breaking the bank.  You can eat as much as you like for £12.95 at MW Buffet or at Mr. Wu for just £8.95 and enjoy genuine Chinese cousin. Hop pots, dumplings, meat and vegetables, rice, or noodles, are some of the dishes offered there.

Pub Grub

We're not talking about places to just drink in, we have another article for those. These are gastropubs that are just as tantalising as the very best restaurants you can find.

The Warwick

One of our favourite pubs happens to be close to our offices. If the pub setting doesn't sit well with you, you will be glad to know that they have a dedicated dining room too. We recommend their vegan fish & chips, which is made with banana blossom.

The Ganton Arms

The ambiance is top-class, but it's actually shockingly affordable! There are many reasons to visit Carnaby Street and this one should be in the Top 5. You can find a Sunday roast in almost any English pub, but this one easily stands out among the rest.

The Jugged Hare

A little on the expensive side, but if you weren't convinced by our other suggestions, you will certainly be impressed by this one. This is as traditional as it gets, from its decor to its menu; you will get an authentically English experience.

Street Food

They're not exactly restaurants but we have to give an honourable mention to London's incredible street food markets. In small portions, you can try a little bit of everything!

Borough Market

Perhaps the most impressive food market in London. This is the place to go to try a variety of different meals. Their traders are constantly changing so you are likely to find something new every week. The official website is also a good source for recipes.

Southbank Food Market

Right behind the Southbank Centre, under the shadow of the London Eye, you will find this incredibly modern market. Here you can try out beloved street food like crêpes, churros and pasteis de nata. When you're done, there's

Portobello Road

Not just one of the best food markets, but one of the best street markets period. In the heart of London's romantic Notting Hill, you will find this surprisingly long road teeming with charm. Despite its uptown location, the market is very diverse and will have something for everyone.

Fun Places

Not everywhere needs to be exclusively for eating. Why not double up your fun by enjoying a few games at the same time? If you enjoy these suggestions, check out our article on the best places to have fun in London.

Flight Club

Perhaps you've been to a pub with a dart board – this is nothing like that. Every booth has its own board and Gamemasters will host your sessions, which can be casual events or serious tournaments. The menu largely consists of pizza, fries and burgers.

Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium

Tea time with cats! Cat cafes are nothing new but London brings its own twist with an appropriate Alice in Wonderland theme, in the city where it arguably belongs most. You can enjoy cakes, sweets, and their unique cat-themed bao buns.

Ballie Ballerson

Have you ever looked at a children's ball bit and felt a little bit jealous? Well, this place is strictly for adults, so go crazy. Ballie Ballerson is more of a bar than everything we've mentioned so far, but it's undeniably a great experience that we needed to mention.
